The Outdoor Center ActivitiesWe know that your group is not going to want to spend all of its time in workshops and meetings. That is why we have multitudes of activities and things to do at the Outdoor Center. Our facility is an ideal setting for your organization's outdoor education programs. Our site is rich in wild life and encompasses a wide range of habitats: fields, woodlands, lakes, marshland, and numerous hiking trails, all ideal for field study. Your group can complement its outdoor education studies throughout the year with team building and individual growth with our high ropes course, climbing tower and wall, and great recreational activities-both indoor and out. Some activities that are available: Zip Line, High Ropes Course, Climbing Tower, Swimming, Adventure Course and, Sports. Some special activities staffed by our trained professionals: Zip Line: Gently glide from one side of the lake to the other while suspended just inches from the surface. The Tower: This state of the art, three-sided tower stands 38 feet high and has three separate climbing and rappelling surfaces. Team Challenge Course: Two different 12-20 station courses of platforms, cables, logs, and ropes, spread out over acres of land. The purpose is to create unique challenges which the entire group must solve as a team. Giant Swing: Your team mates use a pulley system to raise you to the top of our giant swing platform. Once at the top, pull a quick release and experience a truly "Giant Swing". Pamper Pole: Belayed by your team, you climb a telephone pole. Once you reach the top, balance on a wobbly disc before jumping to a nearby rope. This activity is a true leap of faith. Flying Squirrel: Your team-mates use a pulley system to pull you in to flight as you run, flying through the air as your team-mates support you from below. Environmental activities staffed by the camp include: pond ecology, orienteering, stream and forest ecology, geology, nature hikes, wilderness survival, and numerous other educational activities. Evening activities include: campfires, square dances, raptor and reptile programs, pizza and ice cream parties. |
