Cody Hennelly, Director

Cody is a proud graduate of the Virginia Military Institute, where he earned his B.A in History. He then earned his Master of Arts in Human Behavior from National University, and is currently pursuing his Philosophy Doctorate in Organizational Leadership from Regent University.

Cody proudly served in the United States Army from 2011 – 2017 , earning the rank of Captain and serving as Deputy Chief of Operation from 2016 – 2017. After serving in Iraq, Cody was awarded the Joint Service Commendation Service Medal. Cody currently serves as a Director of Defense and Aerospace Initiatives for the U.S. Legislative Branch.

Cody attended Happiness Is Camping as a camper from 1994 – 2002 and later returned as a volunteer counselor. Cody serves as a mentor for HIC’s Counselor and Mentorship Program and speaks to participants about overcoming their diagnosis to find success in their adult lives.

Cody currently lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife Jessica and their son.
